Alaska

Known as “The Last Frontier,” Alaska offers an amazing array of natural beauty. In June I traveled to Alaska to photograph the wildlife, wild flowers, spectacular sunsets and the incredible glaciers. The Mendenhall Glacier is over 12 miles long and the Margarie Glacier is 21 miles long and over a mile wide. Due to extreme temperatures and the angle of the sun, glaciers often appear to be blue. Along the coast, much of the state is often shrouded in dense fog, but this sometimes serves to enhance the beauty and allure of the 49th state.
